Why Overseas Producers Can't Undercut Atlas Salt, Even for Free
Cities are already running short on road salt, and winter hasn't even started. Some supply bids are going unanswered, prices have nearly doubled in parts of the market, and the backup plan is two weeks away by boat. Here's why Atlas Salt (TSXV: SALT | OTCQX: SALQF) can get salt to the people who need it most, faster and cheaper than anyone shipping from overseas:
• Three days by ship to Boston, not fourteen
• Shallow deposit that's cheaper and faster to mine
• Projected C$188M a year in free cash flow
• Export Development Canada interested in lending C$150M
• Early supply deal with top U.S. salt distributor

A traveling big top is coming to Chesterfield as Venardos Circus prepares to present its new production, Far Beyond, at St. Louis Premium Outlets from November 5–15. The show combines acrobatics, aerial performances, theatrical storytelling, music, and comedy in a traditional circus-tent setting. The production also marks the launch of the company's second touring troupe, bringing a new lineup of performers and a fresh story to audiences.
The approximately 90-minute, animal-free performance includes an intermission, with doors opening an hour before showtime. Families can enjoy classic circus refreshments and preshow activities before taking their seats. Opening night is Thursday, November 5, at 7 p.m., with additional performances scheduled through November 15. The venue is located at 18521 Outlet Boulevard in Chesterfield.
UMSL Researcher Finds New Meaning in Family Keepsakes

With the holidays approaching, a University of Missouri–St. Louis researcher is offering a new perspective on the objects families pass down through generations. Dan Grossman, an assistant professor of marketing at UMSL's Ed G. Smith College of Business, co-authored five studies examining how people value sentimental possessions. The research, published in the Journal of Consumer Psychology, found that using meaningful objects can strengthen their emotional significance rather than diminish it.
The findings suggest that family treasures such as inherited dishes, photographs, or other keepsakes may become even more meaningful when incorporated into everyday life. Grossman also emphasizes the importance of sharing the stories behind these possessions, particularly when passing them to younger generations. As families gather for the holidays, the research offers a reminder that memories and connections can be as important as the objects themselves.

West County diners will soon have another familiar restaurant option. The Cheesecake Factory has set November 10 as the opening date for its new location at West County Center in Des Peres. The restaurant will occupy the former McCormick & Schmick's space in the shopping center's Restaurant Village, bringing a new dining destination to the busy retail area.
The new restaurant is expected to employ approximately 280 people, adding jobs and activity to a space that has been vacant for several years. The opening also brings the brand back to the western St. Louis County area following the closure of its former Chesterfield Mall restaurant in 2024. For families and shoppers throughout West County, the November opening offers another place to gather for meals and celebrations.
