Behind the shopping, special events, and seasonal activities at St. Louis Premium Outlets is a team working to make the destination an inviting part of the Chesterfield community. One of those leaders is Britni Hensley, director of marketing and business development, whose work includes community partnerships, tourism initiatives, promotions, and event planning. With a background in higher education and experience helping launch Rockwood School District's Early College Partnership program, Hensley has built her career around connecting people and creating opportunities.

A graduate of Leadership Chesterfield, Hensley sees the outlet center as more than a collection of stores. She helps coordinate experiences that bring together families, retailers, local organizations, and visitors from across the region. Her work includes supporting more than 90 retailers while developing partnerships and events that encourage community involvement. Looking ahead, Hensley hopes to expand the center's role in local tourism and create additional opportunities for Chesterfield businesses and organizations.

New Sensory-Friendly Indoor Playground Welcomes Children of All Abilities in St. Peters

A new indoor play destination in St. Peters is creating a space where children of different abilities can have fun together. We Rock the Spectrum St. Charles, located at 220 Indacom Drive, was opened by Suzanne Recer, a mother inspired by her experiences raising a son with a rare genetic disorder and autism. After discovering the welcoming environment of another We Rock the Spectrum location, Recer decided to bring that same approach to more families in the St. Charles County area.

The gym features swings, climbing structures, a trampoline, sensory equipment, a dedicated infant and toddler area, and a calming room for children who need a quieter environment. A separate teen room offers activities for older visitors, while caregivers can connect with other families. The facility welcomes children of all abilities, whether or not they have a diagnosis, and offers open play, birthday parties, and private events. Recer hopes the space will grow into a community hub where families can build relationships and find support.

Wash Ave Food Hall Opens Downtown with Eight Dining Concepts

Downtown St. Louis has a new gathering place for food lovers. Wash Ave Food Hall, located at 1122 Washington Avenue, began its soft opening November 3, bringing eight dining concepts and two bars together under one roof. The 14,000-square-foot space offers a wide variety of options, including smashburgers, barbecue, Puerto Rican sandwiches, bao, Detroit-style pizza, tacos, and ice cream. A grand opening weekend is scheduled for November 6–8.

Designed to serve downtown residents, workers, visitors, and groups, the food hall includes shared seating and an ordering system that lets customers purchase from multiple vendors in one transaction. An indoor-outdoor patio features a retractable roof, and additional gathering spaces and recreational activities are planned. Several familiar St. Louis food businesses are represented, including Steve's Smash, Arzola's Tacos y Más, and Conefection from the team behind The Fountain on Locust. The opening adds another dining and social destination to Washington Avenue.
