🚒 Teamwork Keeps I-64 Fire Under Control

A hay-filled flatbed trailer caught fire on Interstate 64 near the Chesterfield Airport Road exit this weekend, prompting a coordinated response from the Monarch Fire Protection District and several community partners.
Although firefighters quickly knocked down the flames, crews needed to separate the hay bales to extinguish hidden hot spots and prevent the fire from reigniting. Mutual aid from Metro West Fire Protection District and Cottleville Fire Protection District played a key role in the response.
When heavy equipment was needed, Fick Supply stepped in. Owner Dave Fick arrived within 20 minutes with a front-end loader, allowing crews to safely move the hay bales and significantly reduce the time spent battling the fire.
The incident highlighted the importance of strong partnerships between emergency responders, local businesses, and the community in keeping Chesterfield safe. 🚒
🎓 Rockwood Summit Senior Honored by Kiwanis

Celebrate community, connect with neighbors, and meet members of the Chesterfield Police Department during National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 6–8 p.m.
Neighborhoods across Chesterfield are invited to participate in this annual event, which brings residents together for an evening of fun while strengthening relationships with local law enforcement. Chesterfield police officers will make special visits to registered neighborhood gatherings throughout the evening.
