Four Rockwood School District seniors recently had the opportunity to contribute to real-world scientific research presented at the Saint Louis University Institute for Drug and Biotherapeutic Innovation Research Symposium on September 18.

Aditi Roy, Shruthi Senthil, Prabhjas Singh and Vignesh Viswananthan each contributed to research projects showcased during the symposium, gaining valuable exposure to professional scientific research and innovation.

The students earned the opportunity through Rockwood’s PIE Summer Internship program, which connects students entering their senior year with professionals for hands-on career exploration. The program gives students the chance to move beyond the classroom, develop practical skills and experience potential career fields firsthand.

Experiences like these give students an early look at where their interests could take them while building connections between classroom learning, higher education and future careers. 🔬🧪🎓
