Lights, Camera, St. Louis: New Rom-Com "Love on the Hill" Begins Filming
St. Louis is getting the Hollywood treatment as cameras roll on "Love on the Hill," a romantic comedy set in the heart of the city's iconic Italian neighborhood.
Unlike many productions that simply use St. Louis as a backdrop, this film embraces The Hill as part of the story. The movie follows the romance between a social media influencer and a minor league baseball player, with scenes being filmed at recognizable local landmarks, neighborhood streets, and the Gateway Grizzlies' ballpark.
Producers say the community has welcomed the cast and crew with open arms, and filming is expected to continue for several weeks. The project is one of several productions choosing Missouri this year, thanks in part to the state's film tax incentives and growing reputation as a filmmaking destination.
Beyond the economic boost from production crews, filmmakers hope the movie will showcase St. Louis' charm to audiences nationwide and inspire more visitors to experience the city for themselves.

I-44 Reopens, Restoring Access

Interstate 44 through downtown St. Louis is back open today after a sinkhole forced a two week closure.
The Missouri Department of Transportation confirmed both lanes are now operational. This was a major disruption for commuters and local businesses.
A massive sinkhole appeared suddenly, shutting down a busy stretch with no warning. Crews worked around the clock to stabilize the ground and repave the road.
Here's the thing about infrastructure: it only gets attention when it fails. But the real work happens long before the pavement cracks.

This year, the district received three Excellence Awards for its newsletters and website, along with four Merit Awards honoring its photography, video production, and website content. The honors highlight Rockwood’s continued commitment to keeping families and the community informed through clear, engaging communication across multiple platforms.
Each year, more than 100 experienced communications professionals from across the country volunteer as judges for NSPRA’s National School Communication Awards. Entries are evaluated using established criteria rooted in industry best practices for school communication.
