Why Overseas Producers Can't Undercut Atlas Salt, Even for Free

Cities are already running short on road salt, and winter hasn't even started. Some supply bids are going unanswered, prices have nearly doubled in parts of the market, and the backup plan is two weeks away by boat. Here's why Atlas Salt (TSXV: SALT | OTCQX: SALQF) can get salt to the people who need it most, faster and cheaper than anyone shipping from overseas:

• Three days by ship to Boston, not fourteen

• Shallow deposit that's cheaper and faster to mine

• Projected C$188M a year in free cash flow

• Export Development Canada interested in lending C$150M

• Early supply deal with top U.S. salt distributor

A beloved St. Louis winter tradition is preparing for its return. Forest Park Forever announced November 2 that Steinberg Skating Rink will reopen to the public on Monday, November 30, as the centerpiece of The Glade, a newly transformed 22-acre destination in eastern Forest Park. A ceremonial ribbon cutting is scheduled for 4 p.m., followed by the pavilion opening at 5 p.m. and the first public skating session at 6 p.m. The project brings updated skating infrastructure and new gathering spaces to an area that has welcomed generations of local families.

The Glade will feature accessible pathways, a community lawn, fire pit areas, a maple grove, and a redesigned building with a rooftop terrace. Additional amenities, including a restaurant and splashpad, are scheduled for spring 2027. A community welcome weekend from December 4–6 will offer music, seasonal activities, skating, and family entertainment. Advance skating tickets and rentals are available through Forest Park Forever.

Laumeier Sculpture Park is inviting the community to experience art in a different light when Laumeier After Dark returns Saturday, November 7, from 4–10 p.m. The one-night event will transform the park's sculptures and trails with colorful lighting, projections, and creative installations. Visitors can also enjoy live music, fire pits, and a Night Market featuring handcrafted goods from more than 50 local makers.

The evening is part of Laumeier's 50th anniversary celebrations and offers a chance to experience the outdoor sculpture collection after sunset. Standard admission is $20, with advance online tickets required for visitors ages two and older; children under two enter free. Event capacity is limited, and the park recommends bringing a flashlight. The park will be closed earlier that day for preparations before reopening at 4 p.m.
