44 Rockwood Students Earn Spots in Regional Honor Choirs

Forty-four Rockwood School District students are preparing to take their musical talents beyond their own school stages after being selected for prestigious regional honor choirs.
The students, representing all four Rockwood high schools, earned places in the St. Louis Suburban Missouri Music Educators Association's District 5 mixed and treble honor choirs.
Of those selected, 23 earned positions in the Mixed Choir, while another 21 were selected for the Treble Choir. Twelve of the Mixed Choir students also qualified for the opportunity to audition for the Missouri All-State Choir.
The students are scheduled to participate in rehearsals, a clinic and a concert on November 7 at Pattonville High School. All-State auditions are also scheduled that day.
For families in Chesterfield, including those connected to Marquette and Lafayette high schools, the recognition highlights the talent and dedication of local student musicians. Honor-choir participation brings together singers from different schools to collaborate and perform beyond their regular school programs.
While the regional selections are already confirmed, the November performance and All-State auditions are still upcoming.

Business owners in Chesterfield will have an opportunity this week to connect directly with local law enforcement and learn about resources available to help protect their businesses.
The Chesterfield Regional Chamber is hosting its October General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, October 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring the Chesterfield Police Department.
The gathering will take place at St. Louis Family Church, located at 101 Valley Center Drive in Chesterfield.
Rather than focusing solely on traditional networking, the meeting is designed to give business owners a closer look at the services and resources available through the city's police department.
Attendees will have an opportunity to hear from local law enforcement about community partnerships and ways businesses can connect with police resources.
For Chesterfield's small-business community, the meeting offers a chance to build relationships with the people responsible for public safety and better understand where to turn when concerns arise.
The Chamber lists admission at $25 for members and $30 for guests.
Whether someone operates a retail store, professional office or other local business, understanding available police resources can be a valuable part of preparing for potential security challenges.
Chesterfield Invites Residents to Try Something New With Bridge and Mahjong Lessons

Looking for a new hobby or an opportunity to meet people in Chesterfield?
The city's recreation calendar includes two learning opportunities on Tuesday, October 20: Bridge Lessons and Mahjong Lessons.
Both programs are listed for 1 to 2:30 p.m., offering residents the opportunity to explore games that combine strategy, concentration and social interaction.
Bridge is a classic partnership card game built around bidding and teamwork. Mahjong, traditionally played with decorated tiles, challenges players to recognize patterns and make strategic decisions.
These activities can be appealing to residents looking for indoor recreation, particularly as fall weather makes outdoor plans less predictable.
The two programs also illustrate how community recreation can extend beyond sports and fitness to include social games and lifelong learning.
Residents interested in attending should check with Chesterfield Parks, Recreation and Arts for the session location, registration requirements, fees and available spaces before arriving. Those details were not established from the reviewed calendar listing.
