The Chesterfield 4th of July Firework Celebration is happening this Saturday, July 4th at the Chesterfield First Community Athletic Complex.
Festivities begin at 6:30 PM, with gates opening at 6:00 PM—so plan to arrive early to find parking and settle in before the show begins.
Please reference the event map for designated parking areas and the official exit plan to help ensure a smooth arrival and departure.

Weekend Foster Families Urgently Needed for Shelter Dogs

The Saint Louis County Pet Adoption Center is urgently seeking temporary weekend foster families to help relieve overcrowding at the shelter.
Nearly 20 animals have already entered the shelter since the beginning of the week, and staff expect that number to rise as extreme summer temperatures and Fourth of July fireworks lead to more lost and displaced pets.
Residents are encouraged to open their homes for just one weekend to give a shelter dog a safe, comfortable place to stay while creating much-needed space for incoming animals. The shelter provides everything foster families need—including food, a crate, leash, collar, bed, and toys—at no cost.
Anyone interested in fostering is encouraged to visit the shelter before Friday, July 3, as the facility will be closed for the holiday. Even a short stay can make a life-changing difference for a dog in need.
The Saint Louis County Pet Adoption Center is located at 10521 Baur Blvd. in Olivette and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wilson Avenue Closure Begins July 6

Motorists should plan for traffic changes beginning Monday, July 6, when Wilson Avenue will close between Todd Evan Trail and Wild Horse Creek Road. The closure is expected to remain in effect through September while work is completed in the area.
During the closure, northbound Wilson Avenue will not have access to Wild Horse Creek Road. Drivers traveling north should use the newly opened temporary connection at Baxter Crossing Lane to Baxter Road to reach Wild Horse Creek Road.
Only local traffic traveling to Walnut Hill Farm Drive or Todd Evan Trail should continue north on Wilson Avenue beyond Baxter Crossing Lane.
Drivers towing trailers or operating larger vehicles are encouraged to avoid the temporary connection due to its narrow lanes and tight turns. Instead, use Wilson Avenue south to Clarkson Road, then continue to Baxter Road to access Wild Horse Creek Road.
Residents of Walnut Hill Farm should exit the neighborhood by turning right onto Wilson Avenue and traveling south. From there, they can reach Wild Horse Creek Road using either the temporary connection at Baxter Crossing Lane or the Clarkson Road/Baxter Road route.
The temporary connection at Baxter Crossing Lane is now open. Be sure to review the posted detour map before traveling through the area and allow extra time for your commute.
