Final Reminder: Apply for Rockwood Community Connectors by July 15

Time is running out to apply for the inaugural Rockwood Community Connectors program! Community members interested in learning more about the inner workings of the Rockwood School District have until Wednesday, July 15, to submit an application.
The nine-month program offers an in-depth look at how the district operates, covering topics such as school funding, decision-making, student programs, and facility operations. Participants will attend a combination of daytime and evening sessions from September through May, gaining firsthand insight into the people and planning behind one of the region's leading school districts.
The district is seeking 25–30 parents and community members who are at least 18 years old and live or work within the Rockwood attendance area. Upon completion, participants will join the Rockwood Community Connectors alumni network to stay engaged with the district through future events and opportunities.
Don't miss this unique chance to connect with district leaders and learn what it takes to support student success from the inside out.
Cooling Shelter Open Through Sept. 4 to Help Residents Beat the Heat

As summer temperatures continue to rise, St. Louis County and The Salvation Army are providing a 24/7 Cooling Shelter for residents in need through September 4, 2026.
Located at The Salvation Army, 10740 Page Ave. in St. Louis, the shelter offers a safe, air-conditioned place to stay along with a variety of supportive services, including:
Three meals served daily
Laundry facilities
Showers and hygiene supplies
Case management services
Phone access
Life skills and employment assistance
Around-the-clock staff support
Anyone needing access to the Cooling Shelter should call United Way 211 for assistance. Additional cooling centers throughout the region are also available through the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services.
